• 500,000 Displaced by Cyclone Freddy

Malawi suffered catastrophic damages from Cyclone Freddy, which ravaged the country twice. As of March 28, according to Minister of Agriculture, Sam Kawale, the passage of Tropical Cyclone Freddy has displaced at least 553,614 people in southern Malawi, many of whom are sheltering in 543 camp sites. The death toll continues to rise, with 507 deaths reported and 537 people still unaccounted for, according to Malawi’s Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA), on 21 March and the numbers keep increasing.      We are working in cooperation with His Excellency Lazarus Chakwera's Office, Sam Kawale, Minister of Agriculture, Ambassador Esme Chombo, Advance Church, and Raba Leadership Initiative to distribute donations, food and other necessities to displaced Malawians. We are also planning a missions/service trip to Malawi in the late Spring of 2023.

    Ways to Help

Donations: The greatest need is always donations so that relief workers can respond to the most urgent needs, which include food, medicines, and supplies to manage disease, power, poor water, sanitation and hygiene which remain a serious concern in all the displacement sites. Your tax-deductible donation will be directed through Advance Church.

In-Kind Donations: Not needed at this time, since most of the resources needed are in-country.
